Privacy Policy
Plain-English version of how we handle your information. Last updated: May 1, 2026.
The short version
You give us information so we can quote you insurance. We use it to do that. We don't sell it to anyone. We email you about your quote and about insurance topics you might find useful. If you also gave us phone consent, we may call or text you. You can opt out of anything, anytime, and we'll honor it promptly.
Below is the longer version with the specifics.
Who we are
This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through liabilitylimitsmatter.com (the "Site"), operated by Liability Limits Matter ("we," "us," "our"). We are an independent insurance agency based in Houston, Texas.
If you have questions about this policy or your data, you can contact us at the email address listed at the bottom of this page or by replying to any email we send you.
What information we collect
We collect information you provide to us directly, primarily through our quote request forms. This includes:
- Contact information — your name, email address, phone number (if provided), ZIP code, and (for business inquiries) your business name and role.
- Information about your insurance situation — what coverage types you're interested in, your current carrier, and any details you choose to share in the notes field.
- Business information (for business quotes) — industry, vehicles, employees, revenue ranges, and other details relevant to commercial coverage. You choose what to share.
- Consent records — when you submit a form, we record which consent boxes you checked, the date and time, the page you submitted from, the version of the consent language you saw, your IP address, your browser/device type, and the page that referred you to our site. This protects both of us by creating a clear, time-stamped record of what you agreed to. We use this information solely as a consent audit trail — never to track you across the internet, build behavioral profiles, or sell to third parties.
We do not collect, and you should not provide, sensitive information through this Site — including Social Security numbers, full date of birth, driver's license numbers, financial account numbers, or payment information. If we need that information later in the quoting process, we'll request it through a secure channel.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide for the following purposes:
- To respond to your quote request and prepare insurance options for you
- To contact you by email about your quote, follow-up questions, and renewal reminders if you become a client
- If you separately consented to phone contact: to call or text you about your quote and related insurance services, including via automated dialing systems and pre-recorded or AI-generated voice messages
- To send you occasional educational content about insurance topics relevant to your situation, if you've consented to receive such content
- To meet legal, regulatory, and recordkeeping obligations applicable to insurance agencies
- To improve our website and services
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your information with marketing partners. We do not pass your name, contact information, or quote details to other agencies, lead buyers, or aggregators.
Who we share information with
The only parties we share your information with are:
- Insurance carriers we shop your quote with, but only to obtain a quote for you and only with the information necessary to do so.
- Service providers we use to operate our business — like our email provider, our website host, and the tools we use to manage client records — under confidentiality obligations.
- Government authorities or regulators if required by law, subpoena, or to comply with our regulatory obligations as a licensed insurance agency.
That's it. No data brokers, no marketing partners, no resale.
Phone calls and text messages (TCPA)
If you check the optional phone consent box on our forms, you agree to receive calls and text messages from Liability Limits Matter at the phone number you provide. This consent specifically includes:
- Calls and texts placed using automated dialing systems
- Calls using pre-recorded or AI-generated voice messages
- Texts about your quote, follow-up questions, and related insurance topics
Phone and text consent is not a condition of purchase. You can request a quote and become a client without ever agreeing to phone contact — simply leave the second consent box unchecked, and we'll communicate with you by email only.
Message and data rates from your carrier may apply. Message frequency varies based on your situation and our communications with you.
You can revoke consent at any time by:
- Replying STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, END, QUIT, or CANCEL to any text message
- Telling us during a phone call that you wish to be removed
- Emailing us with a request to stop calls or texts
We will honor opt-out requests within ten business days, and we maintain internal procedures to ensure your phone number is removed from our calling and texting lists across all channels. We also respect the National Do-Not-Call Registry.
Calls will only be placed during reasonable hours — generally 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM in your local time zone.
Email communications
By submitting a quote request, you consent to receive emails from us related to that quote and your relationship with our agency (a "transactional" relationship). You can opt out of educational or marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of those emails.
Once you opt out of marketing emails, we'll only contact you with operational emails — quote follow-ups, renewal reminders, claim-related communication, etc. — that are necessary to service the relationship you initiated.
Cookies and website analytics
This Site uses minimal technical cookies necessary for the site to function. We may use lightweight analytics tools that record basic information like which pages are viewed and where visitors come from, in aggregate, to help us improve the site. We do not use third-party advertising tracking, social media pixels, or behavioral profiling cookies on this Site.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Doing so may affect some functionality of the Site.
Data security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you provide, including using encrypted connections (HTTPS) for our forms and limiting access to your information to staff who need it to do their jobs.
We retain quote inquiries and related records for as long as necessary to service your relationship with us, plus any additional period required by insurance regulations and our recordkeeping obligations. Quote inquiries that don't result in a policy are typically retained for several years and then deleted.
No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including:
- The right to know what personal information we have about you
- The right to request correction of inaccurate information
- The right to request deletion of your information (subject to our regulatory recordkeeping obligations)
- The right to opt out of marketing communications
- The right to revoke consent to phone or text contact
To exercise any of these rights, email us using the contact information below. We'll respond within a reasonable time period.
Children's privacy
This Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. For material changes, we'll provide a more prominent notice (such as adding a banner to the Site or sending an email if we have one for you). Your continued use of the Site after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
